Here's just a small sampling of the electrical treasures we've helped develop over the years.

Ignition Switched Power, Triumph Tiger 800

ADVenture Bike Kits first stroll into Plug & Play modular (no cutting or splicing or chopping or soldering) completely reversible motorcycle modification was with the Triumph Tiger 800.

When I bought my first Triumph Tiger 800, an XC, it was the first time that I respected the great job the manufacturer had done with the factory wiring loom, and the first time I wanted fit reversible modifications to my motorcycle.

Previously I would have no problem with cutting or splicing into the ropey old loom on a Honda Hornet, or a Suzuki Bandit, those kinds of street bikes were always being abused and hacked about by owners. So much so, that if you ever saw a standard one it would look out of place!

I wanted my Tiger 800 to have factory fresh reliability so I could completely remove or isolate if I needed to, I did not want my modifications to be the cause of being stranded in the middle of nowhere. So I explored every aspect of the Tiger 800 wiring loom to identify the most appropriate, reliable and safe method of obtaining an ignition controlled power supply, to charge my phone, automatically switch on/off the sat-nav, camera and pillion heated grips . Leaving any of those things connected to the bike without the engine running sounded like a sure way to drain a battery and leave me unable to start the bike. I fitted a relay and controlled its operation by an inline loom that sits between the OEM wiring loom and taillight assembly. Fully removable and reversible to put the bike back to standard when required, it gave solid and reliable operation for the 3 years I owned that first Triumph Tiger 800 XC.

That same reliable taillight controlled ignition switched accessory relay migrated onto the Triumph Tiger 800 XCX that I evolved onto at its release in 2015, and again on the the Tiger 800 XCA that saw me fulfil ownership of every major model variant of the Tiger 800 ADVenture bike series. That one lasted me a full 4 years and was only replaced after Triumph discontinued the Tiger 800 series and launched the New Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer in 2022 and I couldn’t resist.

Ignition Switched Power, Triumph Tiger 1200

After years of Triumph Tiger 800s ADVenture Bike Kits attention turned to the next Triumph motorcycle that caught its eye, this time it was the all new Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer and we wanted to give it the same, high quality, and high reliability switched live solution that all our Tiger 800’s had benefited from over the years.

The Tiger 1200 was assessed and analysed for the most appropriate ignition switched accessory wiring solution. A number of prototypes were developed and trialled before down selecting and continuing to develop the solution we have today.

Denali D7 Light Pods - 2021 Ural Ranger 2WD

The LED headlight for the 2021 Ural Ranger looks pretty good on paper… coupled with the pair of optional Ural LED fog lights on the nose of the sidecar, and you would think that your new Russian steed would be ready for any worldwide adventure…

The truth is that the LED headlight is indeed a modern LED headlight, however it is not an integrated headlight assembly, or a sophisticated module of any description, it is standalone H4 LED bulb. A bulb that is trapped inside a traditional headlamp bowl, behind a half inch thick solid glass lens from the 1940’s with a standard beam pattern, and if that wasn’t enough, the optional adventure pack then puts a protective wire mesh, cutting down even more light in its tracks.

The reality of the LED headlight and LED fog lights on the Ural Ranger is just not quite enough to give you the night time view of the road ahead that piloting a motorbike and sidecar really demands, especially on the winding country lanes near me in the North West of England.

In steps the D7 lights by Denali to save the day, or night, in fact it turns night into day. and I don’t say that in jest, it really is enough light to press on at speed down dark country lanes with confidence.
